2024/2025 High School Teams
Hartwell x CFC

Mission Statement:

Provide a consistent and competitive program that allows Hartwell players the option to continue their soccer career into 9-12th grade.
 

Who will this be for?

Boys & Girls residing in Glastonbury, 9-12th grade.

How will the program be structured?

Each gender will have two teams, U19 and U17, selected through tryouts.

There are two options per team:

• Option 1: January - June
  • This option kicks off the first week in January with winter training and/or league play.  On April 1, they would head outdoors to train. The indoor training would be at one of CFC's locations and possibly Glastonbury gym space if needed.
     
• Option 2: April - June
  • This option kicks off the first week in April, with outdoor training and league play. Each team will have two training sessions a week and a game on the weekend
     
• Optional Winter Transition Program: There will be an extra training program with our professional staff for players who want to start training in November after the high school season ends. The program will be six weeks, bridging the gap from mid-November to the end of December.  The price and location of the program are TBD. Please note, this is in addition to the two options above.

Where would training and home games be?

All outdoor training and home games would be on Glastonbury town fields (starting in March/April when field conditions permit), using the GHS Turf when available.
 

Who will coach?

GHS Boys JV Coach Justin Fredsell will train and oversee the program.  Each team will be assigned a volunteer head & assistant coach and we are hoping to include additional GHS staff. *Updates will be sent as we get more coaches involved*
 

What league will these teams be in?

The teams will be part of CFC’s Premier divisions.  For year one, we are recommending EDP.

EDP is the Elite Development Program league (https://www.edpsoccer.com/).
 

Uniforms:

Teams would wear CFC game jerseys to play in the EDP League.  The kit would include a home and away jersey.  To keep costs down, practice gear will be Hartwell / Capelli.
 

What will this cost?

• Option 1: January - June 
  • $500 plus indoor training fee; plus
  • The indoor training fee will divided by how many players commit
  • Approximately $100-150, TBD
  • $125 (approximately) for uniform game jerseys and practice gear
     
• Option 2: April - June
  • $500; plus
  • $125 (approximately) for uniform game jerseys and practice gear

Important things to think about:

Whether you are going into 9th grade, or already in High School, this program is for you! You do NOT need to be a current Glastonbury High School soccer player to be on these teams.   Our goal is to provide consistent and competitive training/games that keep Glastonbury kids together while they continue to develop their game.
 

Although you do not need to be a GHS rostered player to make one of these teams, please keep in mind that these teams will meet the premier demand of current GHS rosters.  We know that playing on club and premier soccer teams is encouraged during the off season for GHS players.  These teams meet those demands.  The kids will play for a premier club in a premier league and train with our professional staff, all in Glastonbury!
 

While this program will be competitive, our Hartwell values will be at the core!  High school kids need to be high school kids.  A lot of GHS players do other sports in the winter and spring.  Players also have jobs and social lives. Hartwell encourages all of that! This program will offer the perfect balance of competitive soccer to develop for the fall season with the flexibility to enjoy other activities & interests.
