MANDATORY REPORTING and SAFE SPORT TRAINING 3 OPTIONS 1) BLUE SOMBRERO LINKED TRAINING. All adult volunteers, coaches, and team managers can complete their annual SafeSport training through their Blue Sombrero account. When accomplished through Blue Sombrero, the Center for SafeSport will automatically sync to your CJSA account. If you haven't already completed your SafeSport training, this is the preferred way to comply with your Hartwell Coaching Requirements. More Instructions Here: Instructions to complete SafeSport through BlueSombrero.
2) SAFESPORTTRAINED.ORG. If you're having trouble with your Blue Sombrero account linking to SafeSport, you can try navigating directly to SafeSportTrained.org for the training. If you proceed this way, you MUST remember to save the certificates of completion at the end so you can upload them to your Blue Sombrero account. To do this, navigate to www.safesporttrained.org.
If you use this method to reach and complete the training, you must save all certificates of completion to upload into Blue Sombrero.
To complete your course registration you will receive an email to confirm your email address. You must respond to this email to activate your account. 3) STATE OF CONNECTICUT. Members can access Mandated Reporters Training provided by Connecticut's Department of Children and Families (DCF) through an on-line training video produced and provided by the DCF and available via the internet. Any interested individual can gain access to the approved DCF video training (it takes about 60-90 minutes to complete) simply by completing a required DCF Inquiry Form available at https://portal.ct.gov/DCF/Mandated-Reporter-Training/Home. A link embedded in the form will take you directly to the training video after completion of required information.
